Have you ever driven north on 71 and spotted the puppy pool by the Chino Avenue exit? I have and, in fact, I make a point to look for it whenever my husband is driving us that direction. I love seeing the dogs run around the pool and some of them splashing in the water.
I have owned dogs (or rather, belonged to dogs) most of my life but haven't had one in several years. So, seeing those dogs play gives a little fix to my puppy-loving heart. Seeing those dogs also gave me the idea to write this month's business highlight on the puppy pool… or, more accurately, Chino Hills Animal Hospital & Pet Resort.
Chino Hills Animal Hospital
Since it's like two businesses in one, I'm going to start off by telling you about the veterinary side. Chino Hills Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital that offers everything from acupuncture to Vaccinations. Yep, acupuncture.

Chino Hills Pet Resort
The pet resort side of the business is what caught my eye from the freeway. They offer grooming, daycare, and boarding services. So, just like their veterinary side, it's a full-service pet resort.
Grooming Services
The grooming services include all of the basic service offerings from nail clipping to teeth brushing and all of the fur in between. It's nice to have both grooming services and daycare services available in the same space, as I imagine you can get grooming done during daycare. That way, you can drop your pet off in the morning and not have to worry about pick up until later in the day.
Daycare Services (Puppy Pool!)
Speaking of their daycare services, they offer “a trusting and safe environment to care for your family pet as if they were our own. Our goal is to provide your dog with a fun, social, and stimulating atmosphere monitored by extensively trained staff.”
Well, from what I've seen from the freeway, they achieve their goal! The dogs I see at the pool are certainly having fun and socializing in a stimulating atmosphere.
Socialization Interview
But don't worry if your dog is NOT social. As explained on their daycare page, every pet participates in a free socialization interview. Dogs who do not pass the socialization interview are not placed in group play areas, but do get to play separately throughout the day. So, every pet is exercised and happy.
Safety
As for safety, the daycare team is constantly monitoring, interacting, and supervising play time and each dog's behavior. If you're dog doesn't like water, that's okay too. They have multiple play areas, including an indoor play area. The dog pool is only open during certain days of the week in the summer anyway.
For ultimate peace of mind, they also have webcams throughout the group play areas so you can watch your dog playing with their friends during their stay.
Cat Daycare
Feline guests of their daycare are, of course, kept away from the rambunctious dogs. Can you imagine putting a kitty in a pool area with a bunch of dogs?! Instead, each cat gets a nice and quiet room all to themselves to relax in for the day.

Boarding Services
Chino Hills Pet Resort also welcomes overnight guests to stay for as little or as long as needed. Overnight guests receive complimentary daycare access throughout their stay. Those who do not pass the socialization test for group interaction get their own pen and individual exercise.
