Flo’s Airport Cafe Review

Flo's Airport Cafe

Flo's Airport Cafe, located at the Chino Airport, is our go-to breakfast and lunch spot when we here at Chino Self Storage are craving home style cooking and a family-friendly atmosphere. Our community loves this local cafe so much that our sister facility, Chino Hills Self Storage paid a visit as well! Check it out here. Flo's Airport Cafe is a local's place. It has a history of being a favorite among the local dairymen, Veterans, and aviators. Flo's Airport Cafe, originally known as the Broken Propeller, was purchased and renamed by Flora Slack in 1962. The restaurant was later sold to Flora’s friend and former US Navy cook, Paul Hughes, in 1975. Paul, alongside his wife, Donna, kept serving Flora's famous recipes, while also adding their own delicious family recipes to the menu. In addition to the home-style cooking, Flo's Airport Cafe offers a charming retro ambiance. No wonder regulars have been known to frequent the diner year after year!

Home style Breakfast Breakdown

It was a beautiful sunny morning in Chino when we decided to head to Flo's Airport Café for breakfast. We waited outside the establishment for just a few minutes before we were invited inside and shown to our table. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted by our friendly waitress, who promptly asked us for our beverage order. We ordered hot coffee and orange juices. Then it was time to decide what we wanted to eat. The breakfast menu consists of meals with classic names like Flo's Breakfast, Country Breakfast, Farmhand's Feast, and Paul's Platter. The Flo's Breakfast, Country Breakfast, and Farmhand's Feast menu items include biscuits and gravy or toast. We ordered Flo's Breakfast and Country Breakfast with Country Fried Steak. Both of us went with biscuits and gravy instead of toast because Flo's Airport Cafe is known for their home-style biscuits and gravy. We were more than happy to indulge in this breakfast classic that did not disappoint! They also have various 3-egg omelets to choose from and classic sweeter breakfast fare, including pancakes and French toast. Fortunately, we came with big appetites because the portion sizes were very generous. We both enjoyed our meals. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the hash browns were really good. The sausage and country fried steak were savory and delicious.

We cannot forget to mention Flo's Airport Cafe features an amazing in-house bakery, offering all kinds of homemade pies, cakes, cobblers, and other desserts. These treats are great for everyday or for holidays and other special occasions. There are numerous fruit pies on the menu (we counted 14 different types listed on the dry-erase board the day we were there), in addition to more decadent pies like the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream, Coconut Pineapple Cream, and best-selling Millionaire (a pecan pie topped with cream cheese, chocolate pudding, and whipped cream) pies.
