If you’re looking for a family-friendly microbrewery in the greater Rocklin area, Lincoln is home to one of the best. Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery is absolutely one of the most delightful places to visit. Living in the Rocklin community is a year-round treat, but there are times when it’s extra special — like the Christmas lights walk or drive through Stanford Ranch’s Pebble Creek Drive, the Rocklin Community Festival at Johnson-Springview Park, and now, Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery.
When autumn starts to whisper through the foothills, there’s no better place to soak it in than Fowler’s Pumpkin Patch and Brewery in Lincoln. I recently visited with my grandsons so they could pick pumpkins for Halloween and fall decorating. But the visit was so much more than just pumpkins. Read on to learn why this magical place is a year-round source of fun for everyone.
Breweries with Kid-Friendly Spaces
What began as a family pumpkin-picking outing turned into one of those unexpected afternoons that feel like a postcard. There’s something special about Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery, and as someone who has lived in the area my whole life, I know what it is: it’s a place born of generations of family love and dedication.
The land that is now Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery was given as a wedding present in 1885 to a woman named Bell Fagg — her home still stands on the property today. At that time, Newcastle and the surrounding areas were known as the “Fruit Basket of the United States.” In some of my other writings, I’ve covered the agricultural history of Loomis, Rocklin, and Newcastle — and now, I happily add Lincoln. Fowler’s history is rich with what it’s done for the community, so it makes perfect sense that visiting Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery feels so welcoming.
The Fowler family, notably Eugene Fowler, managed Newcastle’s fruit-packing sheds and was instrumental in producing thousands of pear trees in the early 1900s. That was the start of Fowler Nurseries, whose operations you can still see along Highway 193 between Newcastle and Lincoln. Each generation since has expanded the business while continuing to offer that family-friendly spirit. You’ll see it reflected in Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery’s kids’ playground, the comfortable taproom, and the Certified Farmers’ Market — the only one situated on a working farm in Northern California!

Weekend Brewery Destinations in Placer County
Placer County is rich with microbreweries, each offering something a little different (besides the obvious — delicious small-batch beer). Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery stands out because it feels like you’re visiting a farm that happens to be a brewery.
The brewery itself is a modern, farm-style barn structure — about 4,800 square feet — beautifully and comfortably designed to feel both rustic and refined. Large glass panels blend the indoor space with expansive views of the Fowler property. The building, like everything else about Fowler Ranch, feels balanced: spacious yet intimate, blending touches of the past with pops of the present. I love it! It’s easy to see why Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery is becoming one of the most popular weekend destinations in the area.

What to Eat and Drink at Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery
Let’s tap straight into the fun stuff (did you catch the pun?). Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery offers beers crafted from estate-grown or locally sourced ingredients. A few examples include Flora English Crusher Ale — an English-style Session Ale made with locally grown ingredients; The Red — brewed with a special blend of 100% California-grown malt and my husband’s favorite, Honey Blossom Ale — made with local malt, hops, and wildflower honey. These are just a few highlights from Fowler’s generous lineup of craft beers. Please note that these may change periodically so you always have something new to look forward to.
For food, I can vouch for what was served the day we visited — it was delicious. The food truck, The Fry Boys, served piping-hot fresh burgers, grilled sandwiches, loaded nachos, and my personal favorite: loaded fries big enough to feed three people! Our grandsons feasted on chicken tenders made from thick chicken-breast pieces coated in just the right amount of crunch.
According to Fowler’s social-media food-truck schedule, the variety rotates from wood-fired pizza to Philly cheesesteaks to Southern comfort food. If what we sampled that day represents where the “delicious-ometer” sits at Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery — everything there is amazing! Lincoln is just a few miles from Rocklin so Fowler Ranch Farm Brewery beautifully represents the spirit of the Rocklin community and its neighboring towns. Just a few miles in any direction from Rocklin’s edges, you’ll find more wonderful local gems to explore — whether it’s a farmers market, a microbrewery, a seasonal event, or simply a place to enjoy good food and friendly faces.
Being part of a family-centered community like Rocklin means living, shopping, dining, and recreating where great things happen. As your neighborhood self-storage facility, Stanford Ranch Self Storage is proud to support our local community by sharing what we know is wonderful about it.
