I love to watch my friends and family bowl. I love cheering them on (okay, maybe jeering a bit too) which makes me feel part of a team! I love being the one that can point out shenanigans so that the competitive spirit is alive (or encouraged a bit) during bowling games. For my family, bowling is the one thing that we can all do together that's multi-generational. Babies are passed around as each person takes his and her turn to bowl, teens are included and somehow come out of their teen-like behaviors to show up the "old folks", our seniors citizens join us because they can sit and soak in family fun and of course, our 20's to 40's crowd gets to enjoy an evening out without worrying about securing a sitter. Strikes Unlimited invites you to make their venue the place for your next party. Because their goal is to be a family friendly activity center, they provide an array of packages for children's birthday parties, several team party packages, as well as space rentals for private parties (bar and grill and three other areas which hold small and large sized parties). There's even a private lounge which holds up to 40 people with 4 private bowling lanes, luxury seating, private cocktail and food service! Now that's state of the art!
Why Not Go to a Bowling Center and Not Bowl?
The number of other ways to have fun a Strikes Unlimited will knock you over! The Halftime Bar & Grill is a restaurant, bar and nightclub that offers international fare, fantastic service and reasonable prices. While I can't say I've eaten here myself (yet), their online menu looked amazing with enough choices to satisfy anyone's lunch and dinner needs. From fried green beans to "The Bucket" (three mini brats or hot dogs on a stick served with beer-battered fries!), there seemed to be above average variety for this type of venue. There's also a bar offering domestic and imported beer on tap and premium liquor for mixed drinks.
Another way to have fun at a bowling center and not bowl is to play the other games that Strikes Unlimited offers. At 7 p.m. on Tuesday nights, there’s a "Let's Get Quizzical" trivia game show experience. At 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons, Strikes Unlimited partners with Angels in the Alley to provide live BINGO in their Stadium Room. According to the website, Angels in the Alley is a non-profit organization serving disadvantaged adults, youth and their families. Not only do proceeds go to a different charity each quarter (from BINGO) but players can win cash too! IF BINGO isn't your thing, there's Cornhole on Wednesday nights where competitors also can win cash prizes!
On Thursday nights, the popular College Night is back where ten dollars goes a long way. From 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. a college student (with valid ID) can bowl for just ten dollars while eating ten-dollar pizzas! All this happens with a live DJ spinning favorite hits and giving away prizes!
Of course, what bowling center would be complete without a video game arcade? With a state-of-the-art bowling center comes the same in their arcade! Now just like I can't hold myself out to be anything but a great heckler spectator when it comes to the game of bowling, I can't hold myself out to be anything but a great entry level gamer when it comes to arcade game playing. But even for entry level people like me, I still want to get my hands on the newest technology that will motivate me to lose a little less faster (yes, I know that's not a good way of saying it but it does take the sting out of it for me) than usual. There were so many visually beautiful games at Strikes Unlimited arcade that I just stood there for a few minutes trying to decide which direction I'd go first.
