We are about halfway through this year's Stanislaus County Fair and overall, it has been a great fair season. I had the privilege of being invited to their media day a day before opening day and it was awesome.
I got to try some of the new food vendors, see the new layout for this year and talk to some higher representatives in the county fair office. Here are a few things that are new this year at the Stanislaus County fair!

For The Kids
The first one is mainly for the kiddos, the new kid section has been moved from the right side of the stadium to now right by the arch entrance. By doing this there has been an increase in shade over the smaller kids rides and activity center.
Additionally, the fairgrounds have added more children’s focused foods/snacks such as pizzas, chicken nuggets, cookies, and smaller food serving sizes. On top of food vendors there have also been a new children’s stage as well as a miniature clown tent that has three or four showtimes throughout the day.
More Food Options
Another change for this year’s fair is the affordable food fenders price is starting at five dollars instead of the higher price items in previous years.
I recently went to the fair for the destruction derby night on Tuesday and I noticed there was a good amount of food vendors, I’d say at least 40 or more. That’s over 500 different menu items to choose from!
It’s great to see more “reasonable” food prices, especially with inflation of food prices and everything; a family of 4 could easily spend over $100 just on food before this thoughtful change. One of the $5 deals is a bucket of mini donuts, they reminded me of the ones from the San Francisco pier. A good amount for donuts for a sweet price!
Speaking of sweet prices, our summer time sale here at Turlock Self Storage is here! With our “1st Year Price Guarantee” you will have peace of mind knowing that we will not increase your rent during the first year of your stay and our leases are month-to-month.
It’s interesting to think that an offer like ours is normal but it’s what makes us stand apart from others, sort of like the fairs $5 meal deals.

Games & Rides
We noticed what looked like an increase in games & rides this year. After looking at the Media Day booklet, I read that there are 30 rides/attractions and 30 games at the midway section this year.
My daughter is too young, turning 1 years old this month, but she loves the Minions from Despicable Me and they have one of those walk-throughs decorated with them. I had to take a picture with it to show her but there are so many new rides and games that have been updated.
I also noticed a Mario Kart Midway game, a Sonic the Hedgehog Ring Toss game and much more! If you’ve never been to a fair or carnival the games are a little tricky but the winnings are big. When I say big, I mean the stuffed animals might not fit in your car aha.
With all of these games, you’ll probably be bringing home a lot of plushies or inflatable toys. I remember seeing some of them and they were HUGE, so if you don’t have room at home, make sure you check out Turlock Self Storage to see which would be best to fit all of your prizes from the fair.
Hopefully, this blog post will be up before the end of the fair so you can check it out but if it’s posted after, then I hope to see you at next year’s Stanislaus County Fair!
