Want to impress a lady friend with an LA style breakfast or brunch? Or maybe it’s time for the homies to finally take it out of the group chat and do a guys-only morning meetup. Either way, this spot works.
Right off the 221 exit that drops you into downtown Ceres, Crepes & Coffee by Loza sits at 3058 El Camino Ave. Brunch is served every day (except Tuesdays) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it’s quickly become one of those places people keep talking about.
The Patio
They’ve got outdoor seating and a freshly updated patio that honestly feels way nicer than you’d expect given how close it is to the freeway. Between the water fountain, hanging flowers, and greenery everywhere, you kind of forget where you are. It feels calm, relaxed, and a little elevated for Ceres.
There are plenty of umbrellas and tables, which makes it a solid option for bigger groups or a slower weekend brunch. It’s also extremely photo, friendly, one of those places that actually looks just as good in person as it does online. In the Central Valley, where good décor can be hit or miss, this really stood out.
Ceres tends to have more of an old school vibe, especially downtown, but Loza (and a few nearby spots) has been bringing some fresh energy back into the area.
Inside the Restaurant
The interior might actually be better than the patio. There’s greenery everywhere, flowers hanging from the ceiling, mirrors, and a craft cocktail bar that ties it all together. It feels like a mix of the Bay Area and higher-end Southern California.
Honestly, I wish this place had been around when I was in high school. It would’ve been a perfect first date spot, or even a prom dinner location. The crowd definitely leans younger, so it might not be your grandma’s go to tea spot but who knows, she might love it too.
The Food

We visited a few months ago with my wife’s family for my sister in law’s birthday, and I ordered the French toast. Compared to my usual bowl of cereal, it was a serious upgrade.
At $22, you could definitely get more food at IHOP or Denny’s, but would it be as good? Probably not. The quality showed. Even though it was technically four slices (two thick pieces cut into triangles), I was completely full. It also came with a bowl of fruit that I barely touched because my daughter kept sneaking bites from my plate and the fruit bowl.
The rest of the table ordered a mix of breakfast and lunch items, including salmon, pesto pasta, and avocado toast. Since she was the birthday girl, my sister-in-law treated herself to a mimosa and said it was smooth and worth it.
Final Thoughts

Everyone left happy, and my daughter especially loved walking around, touching the greenery, and smelling the flowers. It was refreshing to see a younger-owned business doing well and offering something different from the usual brunch spots. It honestly felt like someone’s Pinterest board brought to life in a good way.
Would I go back? Absolutely. If the food isn’t good, I usually don’t force myself to finish it, but I cleaned the plate without hesitation.
Quick update: after five years, the Ceres location will sadly be closing on Monday, the 29th, 2025. The good news is their Turlock location on Main Street (near the Post Office) is still open, so if you’re after that French toast, that’s where you’ll want to go.
I haven’t personally eaten at the Turlock location, but driving by, it looks very similar ,maybe just a bit smaller. I’d assume the same brunch style menu and, of course, mimosas.
