Located on the left side of Mchenry Village in Modesto, California, The Village Butcher is hands down my favorite BBQ spot out there. The menu is packed with promising sandwiches, dishes and their mouthwatering fries. In this blog post, we will go over why this is my favorite bbq place to eat out in Modesto.
The Heritage
Founded in 2019, The Village Butcher has deep roots in Modesto's culinary scene, with almost half a decade of goodness already. This has helped them earn their 5-Star reputation for its dedication to sourcing the finest meats and providing an authentic, old-world butchering experience.
Quality Meats
What sets The Village Butcher apart is its unwavering commitment to quality. The butchery takes pride in sourcing premium cuts of meat from local farmers and suppliers, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards. From steaks to sausages, customers can expect nothing but the best when they shop at this establishment.
By utilizing whole animals instead of pre-packaged meat, the Butcher can provide distinctive and rare cuts that often serve as excellent alternatives to more costly options. Their approachable staff is eager to assist you in finding exactly what you're looking for.
Artisanal Craftsmanship
At The Village Butcher, butchering is not just a trade; it's an art form. The skilled butchers bring years of experience and a passion for their craft to the cutting board. Whether you're seeking a custom cut for a special occasion or looking for expert advice on cooking techniques, the artisans at The Village Butcher are always ready to assist with a smile.
They aspire to showcase the Valley’s abundance and contribute to bringing these exceptional ingredients to your dining table. This is a great example of Farm to Fork, which is a great way to live especially out here in the Central Valley.
Community Engagement
The Village Butcher isn't just a place to buy meat; it's a community hub. The establishment actively engages with the local community through events, like the cooking classes they held last year. From a Whole Hog Butcher Demo to a simpler BBQ 101, their staff offered multiple educational classes for the next generation grillers. I’m hoping they will continue these classes because I could definitely use a class or two on How to Cook a Steak.
On top of classes and being a community space, I think their partnerships with local farms is very notable and honorable. On their website, they actually show which farms they do business with, what they get from them and of course (to ensure freshness) how far they are from each other.
Only a mile more in distance is Turlock Self Storage that I'd refer to use as the prime cut of the Central Valley for storage units. With Spring semester approaching our local college students, if you're reading this and are a student we have a deal for you! With our “1st Year Price Guarantee” you will have peace of mind knowing that we will not increase your rent during the first year of your stay and our leases are month-to-month!
Turlock Self Storage
Whether you're a seasoned chef or a casual cook, a visit to The Village Butcher could teach your tastebuds something new that you might have been looking for. Like Turlock Self Storage, you will feel like home at the Butcher with their welcoming staff and returning customers.
