West Sacramento Self Storage Manager Interview

|

West Sacramento Self Storage has been part of the West Sacramento community since 2015. Due to high demand and high ratings from our customers, we are proud to share that we are soon opening our brand-new expansion! We interviewed our manager at our West Sacramento facility, Misty, who has been with us for almost 3 years now. In this blog, we will be talking about Misty's experience working for Smart Self Storage in the beautiful West Sacramento community as well as the feedback we have regarding our new expansion.

Q: What do you like about working at West Sacramento Self Storage?

A: West Sacramento Self Storage is different from any other place. I was born and raised here, so I love seeing people that my family and I know. I know some of our customers even before I started working here. I feel nostalgic and that makes me happy. I also love how we have a friendly atmosphere in the office. I would sit and chat with customers and we have a great time.

Q: How long have you worked at West Sacramento Self Storage?

A: I've been working at West Sacramento Self Storage for almost 3 years now

Q: How long have you lived in this area?

A: As I said, I was born and raised here. I'm actually right around the corner from my grandma's house and I love it. Being born and raised here, it's a home to me. And I love how I'm right in the center of it all.

Q: What if your favorite thing to do in the area?

A: I like going to the bowling alley as well as some ball park games. They're finally open again so that’s something I like doing.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area?

A: My favorite is Streets of London which is literally walking distance from the facility. Their fried pickles are amazing! The fish and chips are probably the best in the city, as well as their buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese crumbles is perfect when it's hot outside! I also love their black and blue burger with blue cheese crubles. I usually don't like blue cheese except the one at Streets of London. I don't know what it is, I wouldn't eat blue cheese from anywhere else but this place! This place is a great place to take a break from moving.

Q: What is your favorite park?

A: I like going to Linden Park to take a breath of fresh air. It's a very nice and quiet park. Lots of trees for shade and a nice play area for kids. Probably the biggest thing about Linden Park is that it has the only duck pond in the city. So you can take an evening walk over to the pond and see all the ducks!

Q: Do you feel that West Sac is part of the community?

A: Definitely. The current assistant manager and I were both born and raised in the community so that brings a personal touch. Especially with those life-long residents of West Sacramento, they come in and talk to us and it’s just a home-y feeling.

Q: What is something you’re proud of regarding West Sacramento?

A: To be honest, I’m proud of everything. The fact that we have become one the best facilities in West Sac means something. I'm also proud of our customer service that customers want to come back and store with us.

Q: In what ways does West Sacramento help their community other than being a self storage?

A: During Christmas, we serve as a toy drop-off location for the local police department. Police officers then distribute those toys to kids and we're proud to be a part of that.

Q: What do you think about the new expansion?

A: We're all really excited. We have seen it grow from the ground-up and be built. It will bring more business which I love. We're really happy that it is now open! Our customers have been waiting for me to let them know when it's opening.

Q: Have you heard good things from customers about the expansion?

A: So far, they have just been wanting to know when it’s going to open. We've all watched it get built and it’s nice and it looks good. We're all excited because it was the first time it had electricity and all the lights came on.

Q: Do you like talking to customers about West Sacramento?

A: Yes, definitely. Especially with elderly customers. We just connect right away once they know I was born and raised here. We talk about how the community has grown and how this facility used to just be farmland. We share our stories together and I enjoy it. I love it so much.

Q: What does West Sac offer that other self storages might not?

A: I think what sets us apart is that each of our units are individually alarmed and you can’t find that anywhere else in West Sacramento. We're also centrally located in the city; we are right smack in the middle of it all. We also have larger units that have lights inside the units and the fact that we keep the property looking good and maintained, customers appreciate that.
