We here in Chino Hills have also jumped into this craze for we now have many Bubble tea cafes that have opened in our community. I took it upon myself to visit the top 4 to see If I too will become a crazy bubble tea drinker.
It's Boba Time
This café has an urban feel to it with a bit of quirkiness. They offer a variety of teas, and I was very pleased to see a colorful array of macaroons as well as shaved ice if you are not in the mood for tea. You can choose from their top 20 or be brave and try your own concoction.
Since I’m new to this craze, I decided to play it safe and choose a tea from the top 20. I chose a lavender iced tea topped off with an orange slice and crystal boba, there was just a hint of lavender and a burst of orange. I thought it was amazing how the lavender color remained at the top. I would order this drink again.

Chaos Bubble Shop
This café's interior is very animated, painted in a bright yellow. Fun atmosphere, which I liked. They have a very large variety of choices in beverages as well as food, from teas, coffees, even slushies. The food menu has an array of choices, from salads to sandwiches to even fish dishes.
Since I was on a mission to taste the bubble teas, I chose to try the Fruit tea with crystal boba, infused with oranges and cucumber slices. I enjoyed the refreshing taste.

Café 86
This café has a warehouse feel to it, with exposed red brick and an open ceiling and a wood plank counter. I also liked the interior of this café, especially the corner lounge which consisted of a small leather couch and chair where I took the opportunity to relax while I sipped on The Rosie milk tea with a pudding boba.
I ordered a black tea called The Rosie, a tea with rose syrup and sea salt cream. I wanted to try it simply because I liked the name. I’m very pleased to say it was amazing! The menu has many fun choices, and you can choose from different toppings and flavored bobas.

The minute I entered this café, I was greeted with the brightest of smiles. I immediately fell in love with the relaxed atmosphere as well as their overall decor. They have a study room with free WIFI, I made a note of that because sometimes I need a quiet getaway to concentrate on writing blogs for Chino Hills Self Storage.
This time I opted to try the Lovers white chocolate, rose, coffee, it literally was sprinkled with rose petals, it was lovely and a very good coffee. I also decided to try a strawberry slushie with strawberry boba, it was also very good.

7 Leaves Café
This café is probably the most well-known, you can find these in many surrounding cities. We are lucky to have one just one block away from Chino Hills Self Storage. This popular chain uses the same interior design in almost all their cafes and most of them have drive-through’s which will benefit our staff when we need to slip away for a quick refreshing recharge.
I tried the Sunset Passion tea with crystal boba, WOW! The first sip made me feel like I was on vacation. Not only was it delicious, but it’s naturally high in beta carotene, potassium, Vitamin C, Lycopene and antioxidants. It’s a bright happy color that brings a smile to your face. This drink confirmed to me why so many consumers are obsessed with the variety of colors these bubble teas come in.
Each one of these Bubble/Cafes had something special about them. It was fun experiencing the bubble craze and learning that the diversity of these drinks and cafés are endless. These days we are on a constant mission to find a bit of happiness, places that we can go and relax while enjoying a refreshing beverage, fun atmospheres, and smiles on people’s faces. Each one of these cafes offers just that.

Why Is Bubble Tea So Popular?
There are so many reasons why Bubble teas have surged in popularity. They come in a variety of flavors that create not only good taste to the pallet but also colors that are pleasing to the eye, from classic milk tea to fruity blends and creamy concoctions, these diverse teas appeal to a broad audience and allow individuals to customize their drinks to suit their own taste preferences.
Not only are the teas tasty but they also are fun, besides the myriads of colors they create, they often are ordered with chewy tapioca pearls that are called boba. These pearls add texture to the drink and set them apart from just plain teas. Many people enjoy the experience of sipping up these tasty pearls through a large straw while drinking the beverage.
Social media has played a large part in the craze of these Bubble teas. The concoctions are so colorful and so fun it became an instant hit for Instagram fans, TikTok and influencers. Bubble teas are youthful and trendy, making it popular with the younger generation, particularly the millennials and Gen Z consumers.
Bubble tea originated in Taiwan in the1980’s and with the increasingly global connection between culinary trends and different cultures, it has spread extremely fast and has gained popularity worldwide.
What exactly is bubble tea? This drink is a Taiwanese recipe made by blending tea with milk, fruit, and fruit juices, then adding tasty tapioca pearls then shaken vigorously. Tea can be served cold or hot, but most prefer the beverage cold.
There has been a rise in café culture which has also contributed to the drink’s popularity. Quirky and fun places where consumers can meet to enjoy conversations over these colorful, fun and tasteful drinks as well as culinary choices.
Though the beverage is high in sugar and calories (325-455) it has not stopped consumers in partaking in the craze, but like so many other culinary favorites we the consumers should drink the variety of teas in moderation.
