At Cypress Self Storage, we are always exploring our local community. As you can tell by now, we are fans of our local restaurants. Today's post reviews Oakley's very own Providence Bar and Eatery. We hope you enjoy our restaurant review. And, if you have another other local spots you'd like us to explore, please don't hesitate to reach out. We always enjoy meeting new members of our community. We are currently under construction and look forward to opening our doors really soon!
The Providence Bar and Eatery (a.k.a. "The New Prov") is a great place to hang out, play a game of pool or shuffleboard, or just sit at the bar and unwind after a long day, or week.
There are fun events almost every night of the week: Monday Night Football, Tuesday night Singo (it's like Bingo, only with music instead of numbers and letters), Wednesday karaoke, Thursday Ladies Night, Friday BBQ Night, and Sunday all day football. There's a nice variety of beers on tap and of course a big screen TV to watch sports with local fans. Appetizers consist of Grilled Chipotle Shrimp, Chicken Wings, Potato Skins, Pulled Pork Sliders, Chicken Tenders, and Mozzarella Sticks.
And if you're hungry for a full meal, they offer terrific standard grill standards that are also surprisingly beautifully presented. I figured I couldn't go wrong with a basic Build-A-Burger with grilled onions (by the way, having grilled onions as a listed option without having to feel like one needs to special order them is a nice touch!). Trying to be healthy, instead of fries, I subbed in the side salad. Honestly, I would have been perfectly content if my burger came in a basket, with the typical non-descript pile of lettuce with a dollop of dressing as the side salad. But the salad was presented in an adorable little white ceramic bowl with fresh ingredients and dressing on the side. The burger was also nicely presented on an elegant plate, with fresh ingredients and was perfectly done.
There is a decent variety of other burgers, sandwiches, salads, and 5 dinner entrees: Country Fried Steak, Grilled Salmon, New York Strip, BBQ Tri Tip, and Chicken Alfredo.
The service was exceptional. It was friendly, fast and attentive, but not overly eager, as if they were trying to sell too many specials or get a good tip. It just seemed sincere, like someone who enjoyed what they were doing and where they were doing it.
I'm going to have to come back for breakfast, which is served Saturday and Sunday only, 8-11:30 a.m. The breakfast menu has a huge variety, from light options, including fruit and oatmeal and simple one-egg combos, to heartier plates like the Worker's Special: Two freshly baked biscuits served with country made sausage gravy, two eggs any style and a choice of bacon or sausage. If I'm not driving, I'll need to include the Bottomless Mimosas, and while I'm not particularly a fan of them, I have a friend I think who would be more than game to put the Best Bloody Mary In Town to the test.
All in all, if you're looking for a fun, casual local place to hang with some good friends - or new friends - The Prov has something for just about everyone.
