Arroyo Parkway Self Storage has been a part of the Pasadena Community since 1999. We interviewed our manager at our Arroyo Parkway facility, Rima, who has been with our company for 22 years. Q: What do you like about working at Arroyo Parkway Self Storage?
A: I love this business and I understand this business. I love to work with people and help them with their needs and problems. Usually when people come to Arroyo Parkway Self Storage, customers experience stress because they need to move and store their things in a short amount of time. I love being here and helping customers when they come to us. I help them with sizing, pricing, timing, everything. We love to make them feel special.
When customers decide on a facility, they shop around first. Some make the decision right away after hearing about who we are, benefits and deals we offer. Some check out other facilities but they always come back to Arroyo Parkway Self Storage and they say it's because "we are the best" and that makes me feel good. The Pasadena community is big on word of mouth. They ask each other about everything and that is why 40-50% of our customers are referrals.
Q: How long have you worked at Arroyo Parkway Self Storage?
A: I have been working at Arroyo Parkway Self Storage for 22 years now. The fact that I've been here for a while, people come back to us because we have a connection. There is always a familiar face when they come to Arroyo Parkway Self Storage.
Q: How long have you lived in Pasadena?
A: I have lived here since 2001. It's a beautiful and unique community.
Q: How do you like living in Pasadena?
A: Pasadena is a unique town, it is very colorful. Colorado Blvd. is walking distance from us. My husband and I walk around in the neighborhood all the time. Many people drive to visit Pasadena just to see the town and have dinner on Colorado Blvd.
Colorado Blvd. is Old Town Pasadena and where they hold the Rose Parade.
Q: What is your favorite place in Pasadena?
A: True Food Kitchen on Colorado and Pasadena. They have a lot in their menu so there's many to choose from and they are vegetarian and vegan friendly. They have healthy food and the environment is very inviting.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Pasadena?
A: My favorite thing to do in Pasadena is just looking around, sight-seeing. I love to take a stroll with my husband. We love the view and environment.
Q: Do you feel that Arroyo Parkway Self Storage is part of the Pasadena community? Why?
A: Absolutely, I see our customers all over Pasadena and they are always greeting me. Our customers know me and I know them. We see each other all the time around here and it makes me feel good.
Q: What is something you’re proud of regarding Arroyo Parkway Self Storage?
A: Everything. The building, location, customer service, and employees. People come back to Arroyo Parkway Self Storage for the connection we have and our customer service. We have customers that have been with us for over 8 years. Each customer have different needs and we adjust in order to cater to their needs. I have the best employees, we are a really good team.
Q: In what ways does Arroyo Parkway Self Storage help their community other than being a self storage?
A: We are involved in our community by supporting little league/sports teams. Except this past year due to the pandemic. Our office has a wall of mementos from the teams we supported showing their appreciation of us. We also participate in Toys for Tots every year during the holidays. It is an honor to help those kids and put a smile on their faces.
Q: Do you like talking to customers about the Pasadena community?
A: Of course, I love talking to customers about our community. I always ask where they are coming from and they ask me where can I get good food? Where should I shop? And conveniently, there is Whole Foods right across from us which is one of the largest in North America. People come from far places to eat here.
Q: What does Arroyo Parkway Self Storage offer that other self storage facilities might not?
A: Our environment, we have a good product, good environment, and friendly environment for customers. We always make sure to go above and beyond their storage needs. We walk by and ask them if they want water or if they need anything else. And that makes the difference to them. We help them with whatever they need. We definitely do more than other facilities. This is what makes us memorable to customers and they keep coming back.
