If you're searching for a fun new treat near you, search over! Check out Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt. Now before I go too deep into this, I need to say I didn’t even KNOW I was looking for rice yogurt when I discovered Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt and still found a way to discover the best source for it in our area. It’s no surprise that any business coming to the wonderful Rocklin community is bound to be the best of its kind, so trust me, Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt is keeping up that trend for the area. Wow! This place! Here’s what I experienced and learned.

Functional Food is Rice Yogurt
Knowing nothing about it and then experiencing this great treat made me curious, of course. What I mean by that is it made me wonder why I haven’t discovered this type of treat before. Has it been popular, but I’ve been so focused on dairy-based frozen yogurt that I never considered another version of yogurt? So here we go with the nosy, ah hm, I mean curious, thing. I learned that rice yogurt is really blowing up right now because it fits the way we want to eat right now. I’m just going to say it—functional food (yes, that is a thing) is a big deal. Food isn’t just about being delicious. It’s not just a way to nourish the body to keep it running. Food is now also eaten for that next level of function that keeps brains thriving, guts working well, and offers optimal health contributions. We want to seek out food that’s going to give us the most bang for our food buck. Or something like that.
Rice yogurt is the perfect source for that extra bang! It packs probiotics and prebiotics. Between the fermenting process and the way rice naturally works, rice yogurt is a powerhouse of gut health. In addition to all the gut health stuff, it’s high in protein, low in sugar compared to ice cream, has lots of plant-based versions for variety, and lends itself to lots of toppings. Bam! Can’t beat that.
Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt Vibe
Asian dessert fusion is a big thing right now, which is another reason rice yogurt has risen in popularity. We’ve seen boba, mochi donuts, and Korean corn dogs become popular. Rice yogurt is up there in those same ranks and Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt offers what’s needed to keep the popularity going. The idea of going to a rice yogurt shop isn’t just about walking in and grabbing a treat—it’s more like a tiny wellness shop with K vibes. I’ll say for me, walking into Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt was not only a treat for the taste buds, it was like visiting another culture because the vibe is so on-point. With its minimalistic and playful artwork to how the treats are displayed, everything has a café feel to it. It’s a place you can do a grab and go of your treat or have a seat and hang out. For me, the place is an experience rather than just a place to buy a delicious treat. I love it!

Best Rice Yogurt
You don’t have to be familiar with rice yogurt to find the perfect choice for you because this is a food that’s built on things we’re already familiar with. Okay, and there’s a really helpful person on the other side of the counter that will explain everything to you. Oh, and everything is well-described on the menu. So you're good on finding something you'll love. If fruit is your thing, there's so much to pick from. I tried the dragon fruit for a fruit base and it was amazing. It’s not syrupy or overly sweet. It tastes like actual fruit. Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt uses a house-made yogurt base which is made fresh daily. You can choose to have the classic rice plus yogurt combo (which is the original form of this great treat). That’s served cold in a cup or bowl and eaten with a spoon. If you're a chewy-meets-creamy-texture person, this will nail it for you. There's lots of ways of changing it up from there if you want to eat your best yogurt. But you can drink it too. This is where the yogurt is still the base but the rice is blended so you end up with a smoothie. And get this, options are everywhere. For example, you can dial in the sweetness from none to very (sort of the same idea as Thai food and heat). You can mess with the texture so you might need a straw but maybe a spoon will be needed, too. And you can even mess with the frozen-ness of it all. If you're in the mood for a slush version of rice yogurt, just say that and it's done.
Grain is a big deal part of the treat and there's a way to change that up as well. You can choose from oats, red beans, and multi-grains. So the way to make your treat your very own is almost endless. You choose yogurt base flavor (plain, fruity, etc.), toppings, sugar level, amount of rice, and temperature that goes from just cold (the OG version) to slush or iced.
One more cool thing (yes, pun all over that), Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt has limited additional drops you want to check on. There's pumpkin rice, taro, ube, matcha, and even holiday-themed blends. So not only can you mix almost endless choices, Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt keeps the menu fresh so you never run out of new ways to enjoy this great treat. Okay, now that you know about this great place, put Yomie’s Rice X Yogurt on your “must try” list.
