Stanford Ranch Self Storage opened its doors to the city of Rocklin in 2019. Since then, we have loved the time we've spent with the lovely Rocklin residents. We interviewed our manager at Stanford Ranch Self Storage, Susan, who has been with our company for about 2 years. In this blog, we will be talking about Susan’s experience working for Smart Self Storage and her love for the community of Rocklin.
Q: What do you like about working at Stanford Ranch Self Storage?
A: I love Rocklin and its growing community. This is a beautiful, welcoming facility and being able to help people adjust to changing times is such a blessing to me. I love our competitive prices and being able to guarantee their prices for one year. Moving and changing one's lifestyle can be difficult. I can relate since I have been a self storage renter before and moved as well. I have helped make my tenants' move go smoother and with my wit, make it even enjoyable.
Q: How long have you worked at Stanford Ranch Self Storage?
A: I started working at Stanford Ranch Self Storage in 2020 during unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic. I adjusted alongside of our tenants, I understood the difficulties and uncertainties that everyone was facing. I love encouraging and uplifting others when times are tough. It has been nice working and adjusting alongside my tenants. I love sharing how I can help.
Q: How long have you lived in this area?
A: I have lived in Rocklin for about 5 years now. I have been blessed to have been living and managing here at our facility for about 2 years now.
Q: How do you like living in Rocklin?
A: I love it! I feel safe and am so thankful to be here, not only working at a great Storage Facility in Rocklin, but the best city. Rocklin has been ranked in top 50 best places to live in the U.S. and I agree - low crime and best schools. Our top notch public safety department have also made Rocklin one of the safest cities in California.
Q: What is your favorite place in Rocklin?
A: I love my church which is LifeHouse Church in Rocklin where I am a greeter. It is something that is a part of me and makes it easy to get to know people and love on others.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Rocklin?
A: I love meeting up with friends, going to our great restaurants and happy hours here. In just about every corner, there is a wonderful place to eat or gather. We have the best parks everywhere too, with ziplining and concerts. There is so much to do here. Did you know? Rocklin is filled with places for you to be active? Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the area?
A: There are so many restaurants to choose from. Especially Lucille's Smokehouse, we enjoy their Bar-B-Que. We are surrounded by entertainment and food, we are so blessed!
Q: What is your favorite park in the area?
A: Quarry Park, they are known for their adventures. There's zip lining, concerts, and locale gatherings. The Rocklin Chamber host events often and I recently attended the Tree Lighting. It’s always entertaining at The Quarry Park in Rocklin. Don't forget the other wonderful parks in Rocklin, so many clean and inviting places to spend time at.
Q: Do you feel that Stanford Ranch Self Storage is part of the Rocklin community? Why?
A: Yes, we are constantly involved and support the Rocklin Chamber as well. We do this because we want to see our community continue to be the best place not only for businesses, but for us residents as well.
I love the Rocklin Chamber, always helping the businesses in our town to grow. I also remember in the early stages of Covid, how our community chamber passed out boxes of masks and gloves, we weren't certain about the unknown but they helped us be prepared, and to this day, we are.
Q: What is something you're proud of regarding Stanford Ranch Self Storage?
A: We treat people the way we want to be treated. We strive to show kindness and consideration. I love being here, love my co-workers and I believe it shows. We have such a volume of repeat tenants for a reason. We like make suggestions and laugh with you and we love to make your self storage experience more of an enjoyable experience.
Q: In what ways does Rocklin help others other than being a self storage?
A: We share information about our community to others. We have blogs on our website featuring local businesses at Rocklin. Check out our Top 10 Fun Things To Do In Rocklin infographic. We share things that can help them, such as programs that may help their businesses, make suggestions on restaurants, churches, and local events. I yearly get to be involved with the Salvation Army, one of my highlights every year, I get to ring the bell. All of us at Stanford Ranch Self Storage do something to help others, we are in a position to be able to assist.
Q: What does it mean for the community?
A: Some businesses are able to work from home, they can store their inventory that they don't have room for. Communities can be cleaner without cars off the sidewalks, many store cars in our drive-ups. Students can go to our wonderful schools here, we are right next to Jesuit University, students need a place to store their belongings between school season, when they live afar. Students see this is the area and they want to live here and help Rocklin grow. The elderly get to move in with their adult children, sometimes things are done without much notice, great to have a resource and place to store belongings. I help many nonprofit organizations find the best units for things they are storing to help others, I get to work with them and get them the best promotions possible. Many startup businesses think ahead, need a place to put things while starting a business, with changing times, they sometimes need to store inventory.
Many are moving to Rocklin, this is a desirable place. Many realtors refer their clients here, while waiting for their homes to close, or while staging or planning by renovating. There has been many changes due to job relocations resulting in so much need for storing valuables.
Q: Do you like talking to customers about Rocklin?
A: As I stated, I love sharing ways this community can meet their needs. Whether it be organizations, churches, things to do, people to contact for specific needs and help. I am proud to live here.
Q: What does Stanford Ranch Self Storage offer that other self storages might not?
A: We love helping others. Love to say their prices are guaranteed for one year. Love to recommend many services that can be helpful. I remember specifically telling a tenant about a government service that could help their business, she called me and told me how it had helped. I even like telling prospective what questions to ask when they are calling others looking for a storage facility. I love sharing useful information, love being in the position to do so! I love our management and how they encourage us to do the right thing and stress for us to LISTEN, only then can we help.
