Small Town Treatment With a Big City Inventory
RV Travel World has been in business for over twenty years and is a part of the Roseville community of neighborhood businesses. It's a family owned business that treats each customer as if they're family. Their motto is that they offer something for every camping preference and budget. As an RV owner, I have first-hand experience at how hard it is to find a dealership that carries new and quality used RVs, let alone one that is just as happy to sell you a used RV as a new one. I think RV Travel World's mission is to make sure your RV vision is the focus of the sale. Walking around RV Travel World's lot was an impressive experience. As an RV owner myself, I have learned about different RV models and manufacturers, and I've seen what's available to those who want very little to manage all the way to what's out there that caters to people wanting to live in an RV. I know what an RV dealership needs to have on the lot to back the claim that they accommodate all RV camping styles. RV Travel World does an excellent job of catering to most campers' visions. Because when buying an RV, it's not just a purchase of a camper, trailer, 5th wheel or motorhome, it's a purchase of a lifestyle. And oh what a lifestyle it is. There are so many places to camp and so styles of how to do it; it's no wonder it's become a staple of our society's travel habits.
Resort Campgrounds Are Outdoor Five Star Hotels
If you want a luxury hotel's amenities but prefer to be outdoors as much as possible, camping in a resort campground is the perfect setting. These campgrounds are typically in gorgeous environments and offer saunas, restaurants, general stores, pools, spas, clubhouses, and coordinated activities. They always have full hookups, water, electricity, and septic at each site. There are large bathrooms on every avenue so that campers can use their own RV's facilities or use the resort's facilities. In our favorite RV resort, there's also bike and buggy rentals as well as free WiFi. Each campsite is large, beautifully groomed, and with lawn surrounding the entire area. If you drive there and decide you want to have your RV washed and waxed, there's a service that will come to you for a discounted fee. Resort camping is affectionately referred to as "glamping" for a reason. It really is glamorous camping.
Non-resort Private Campgrounds
For those who want the conveniences of full hookups and easy access to their campsite but don't want the luxury associated with resort camping, there are many private campgrounds that can accommodate that preference. These are the RV campground equivalent of getting a clean room in a nice motel but nothing extra. The same is true for private campgrounds that don't have the resort level bells and whistles. Often these campgrounds offer sites for tent campers as well as RVs. They sometimes have a limited number of full hookup sites, may not have free WiFi or on-site store. There may be one or two restrooms that are serviceable but with coin-operated showers. These campgrounds are often in stunning settings, so fewer amenities doesn't necessarily mean less beauty in the camping world.
Public Land Campgrounds
There are many amazing campgrounds on public land. Whether federal, state, or county-owned, many camping "parks" are stunning campgrounds. Our second favorite place to camp is a county-owned park that's yards from the Pacific Ocean. Because these campgrounds are on public land, they aren't set up with full hookups. If you want to RV camp, you have to bring a generator, bring in your own water, and have a self-contained RV with your own bathroom facilities. While there may be restrooms, they may be quite a distance from your campsite. This style of camping, even with the most luxurious of motorhomes, requires more handling but is just as beautiful and liberating because it's all about spending time outdoors. Some things RV campers need to be prepared for is that there are restrictions on the hours for using generators, many don't have sites for RV's larger than 30 feet long and sometimes these are "first come, first serve" which means that you can't make reservations ahead of time.
Boondocking is Not for the Faint-Hearted
In addition to be a fun term, boondocking is a fun concept. The term refers to camping without any facilities and often for free. Other names for it are dry camping and wild camping. Federal lands managed by Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, and Bureau of Reclamation are places where you can pull in and stay free of charge with no reservations. There aren't any services available, so you must be prepared to be completely self-contained. The trade-off is incredible because you may be out in the middle of the wilderness without another camper in sight. It offers you the opportunity to go off-grid with little more than a camping pass. Boondocking is completely legal in the state of California, and there are numerous websites dedicated to teaching you everything you need to know about this fun style of camping.
